Lietuvos kariuomenės 1919 m. lapkričio 23 d. ties Radviliškiu iš bermontininkų atkovotame traukinyje tarp kitų karinių lėktuvų buvo vienas bombonešis Friedrichshafen G.IIIa.
1920 m. kovo 3 d. netoli Kauno Lietuvos kariuomenė apšaudė ir privertė nusileisti sieną pažeidusį G.III, kuriuo iš Maskvos į Šveicariją buvo skraidinamas 1918 m. sausio 14 d, per pasikėsinimą į [[Leninas|Leniną]]<nowiki/>sužeistas Vokietijos komunistinio judėjimo lyderis [[Friedrich Platten]]. Konfiskuotas aplaužytas lėktuvas buvo atiduotas remontuoti į Karo aviacijos dirbtuves. Atstatytą lėktuvą 1921 m. gegužės 21 d. ore išbandė Lietuvos karo aviacijos samdytas Josef Komandel.
