Eilutė 31:
Jak można mieć narodowość POLSKO-LITEWSKĄ, kiedy Litwy jeszcze nie było w tych czasach? No nie umiem tego pojąć! <br/>
How he could to had POLISH-LITHUANIAN nationality, when Lithuania wasn't in that breath? I can't understand it!79.163.251.101 10:56, 29 gruodžio 2010 (EET)

Vertimas: Kaip jis galėjo būti LENKŲ-LIETUVIŲ tautybės, jeigu tuo metu Lietuva neegzistavo. Aš negaliu to suprasti!
:I guess we must end this nationalist debate. Adomas Mickevičius is descendant from old lithuanian noble family and he claimed himself to be lithuanian (he stated that numerous times even to W. Goethe), but he and his relatives spoke polish language (that's for sure). But that does not make him polish writer, rather it makes him lithuanian writer who wrote in polish language. This is like irish writers (like Oscar Wilde) wrote in english language, but that does not make him english writer. He's still irish. Same situation. Poland didn't exist at that time either. <font color="DarkGray">...</font> <font color="DarkOrange">au</font><font color="DarkOliveGreen">sis</font> <font color="DarkGray">aptarimas</font> 14:11, 29 gruodžio 2010 (EET)
::Adam Mickiewicz was Polish writer, seriuous Lithuanian literature critic like Vytautas Kubilius admits this in his book. See: Vytautas Kubilius, Adomas Mickevičius: poetas ir Lietuva. Vilnius: Lietuvos rašytojų Sąjungos leidykla, 1998. P.49: "Adam Bernard Mickiewicz was born on Christmas Eve, in 1798, possibly at the Zaosie estate, about 40 km from Nowogródek, or or even in Nowogródek, where he was baptised. His parents came from a class of petty Polish gentry." His mother was probably Jewish origin, father - Ruthenian origin, but look, if persons ancestors self-polonised long time ago this change nothing in mentality, understandment of person's self-identification. Mr. Ausis, you gave no facts, citations of serious authors. --84.15.109.176 17:52, 24 vasario 2011 (EET)

What's wrong? The article has both Polish and Lithuanian categories, introducion sentence says that Mickevičius is Polish-Lithuanian origin poet too. Hugo.arg 18:10, 24 vasario 2011 (EET)
:The problem is wrong article. Adam Mickiewicz wasn't "lenkų-lietuvių kilmės poetas". There wasn't neither such nationality, nor such ethnicity. Adam Mickiewicz was Polish poet, this is visible in many his views. Mickiewicz identified himself as Polish, as poet of divided Poland. This is clearly visible in his mesianistics views about Poland, see Norman Davies at least. Exists lectures in College de France where Mickiewicz clearly separate himself from Lithuanian population, viewing to it as vanishing. Also article is wrongly categorised - now is classified as "Lietuvos poetai". Sorry, this is nonsence. Do you think Mickiewicz is the same as Juozas Erlickas, Jurgis Baltrušaitis etc? See It's nonsence, because it's unhistorical, unscientifical add Mickiewicz to this category. In historiography exists conception that separates historical Lithuania of Mickiewicz times - Litwa, form Republic of Lithuania - Lietuva. Distinction between mentioned terms is recognised by Polish, Bielorussian, Lithuanian historians. Formally Mickiewicz was Russian poet, but he was disloyal Russian subordinate. Anyway, he never lived in so called Polish-Lithuania commonwealth. What I'm explaining is known for decades, almost century. Even in Soviet times, even in Lithuanian encyclopedia was recognised that Adam Mickiewicz was Polish poet. What happened? Do you think that the desire to beautify the history is useful, wise? The problem is that mislead Lithuanian users goes to English Wikipedia and disturbs it. Best regards. --84.15.109.176 19:01, 22 kovo 2011 (EET)
::This actually makes sense.--Snooker apt. 19:36, 22 kovo 2011 (EET)
::: You understood, that's fine, but article still is not changed. Adam Mickiewicz is no way related to Lietuva, but still categorised as Lietuvos poetai Why? I can't change article because it's locked. --84.15.109.176 15:00, 29 balandžio 2011 (EEST)
:::: Adam Mickiewicz live in the teritory of Lithuania in Vilnius, his write about Lithuania and Lithuanians ..., so his is categorised as Lietuvos poetai. Category Lietuvos poetai not shows only nationality, but shows more others relations to the Lithuania. And is not reason exclude it from this category. -- 15:23, 29 balandžio 2011 (EEST)
